By water India borders with the Bay of Bengal, the
Indian Ocean, and the Arabian Sea, but borders countries Pakistan, China, Nepal, Bhutan, Burma, and Bangaladesh by land.

India is bordered in the north by the Himalaya Mountains, some of the tallest mountains in the world. This includes the tallest of them all, Mount Everest. Mount Everest reaches over 29,000 feet into the sky. South of the mountains, India becomes flatter and has many rivers and streams. Some of them are the Ganges, the Narmada, the Godavari, and the Krishna. The Ganges is the largest and flows through India's capital city of New Delhi.  India's total land area is 1,222,243 square miles, making it one of the largest countries in Asia.
